Shirley Rae Lane, 65, passed away January 11, 2020 at her home in Burrton. She was born September 18, 1954 in Meade, KS, the daughter of Dallas and Barbara (Eakes) Cox.
She graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in Liberal, KS with the class of 1972. She worked for Cessna-Eaton in Hutchinson for 30 years. She later was employed as a CNA at Pleasant View Home in Inman.
Shirley attended Burrton Community Church. She was a volunteer at Burrton Schools, and also was a voluntary advocate for cancer patients in Burrton, which included helping with paperwork processing and grief counseling.
She was united in marriage to Jerome Lane on July 28, 1977 in Burrton.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome Lane, Sr. of Burrton; five children, Jerome Lane, Jr. (Kristen) of Hutchinson, Shelly Lane of Austin, TX, Latisha Lane of Arlington, TX, Trae Lane and Kris Lane both of Burrton; sister, Cindy Berry of Jamesport, MO; three grandchildren, Skye, Jasmine and Tyrece Lane all of Tulsa, OK; and one great granddaughter, Dorriane of Tulsa, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Teresa.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Burrton Community Church, 429 Reno Ave., Burrton.
